The Post Apocalyptic Guide to the Good Life

Excerpt from a section on Mutants:

Mutants come in many shapes and sizes and therein lies the tragic crux of their condition. Although certain deformities appear more frequently there is no single trait common to all mutants. Instead it is their rejection from human society which gives them a shared identity.

Some mutant philosophers have attempted to turn the tables by arguing, “perhaps it is not us who are freaks but you who would declare us as such that are truly monstrous” which has prompted humans to reply, “why would be freaks for calling you a freak? you just said all of that from a mouth on your stomach.”

However, simply because mutants have been cast out and abandoned by human society does not mean they have abandoned their humanity. In fact, mutant society will regularly ostracize and expel members for not being deformed enough proving bigotry has survived where unwebbed fingers have not.
